Acute and chronic lung diseases can damage lung tissue and airways. This damage can cause difficulty in breathing and a decrease in physical activity. Psychological depression is also associates with a lack of physical activity and is often seen as a component of pulmonary disorders.
The Goals of Pulmonary Rehabilitation are to:
  • Manage symptoms of respiratory impairment
  • Decrease the number of instances of respiratory distress.

  • Optimize functional lung capacity.

  • Maintain independence in activities of daily living.

  • Improve the dynamics of respiration trough breathing "retraining".

  • Provide a supportive environment for the patient and family in learning to cope with the problems inherent in lung disease processes.

 What we do?

Exercise Therapy

Upon completion of your initial evaluation, a suitable exercise program is designed to help improve your circulatory system's use oxygen and increase your endurance. The program uses several exercise options that include the use of a treadmill, stationary bicycle, arm ergometers, resistance training and stretching to improve overall strength. Throughout these sessions, our specially trained staff will supervise your progress and will make the necessary adjustments to your exercise regimen. A supplemental home program will be introduced as your body progresses.

Education and Emotional Support

Our weekly sessions focus on retraining your body's breathing habits and are designed to address bronchial hygiene, proper use of Metered Dose Inhalers, energy conservation, relaxation, panic control, respiratory equipment, traveling with oxygen as well as diseases of the lung.

A Team Effort

Our group of highly qualified health professionals will assist you in developing a plan that is tailored to your health condition.

Exercise and Education Programs

We help people who are suffering from COPD Emphysema, Asthma, Bronchitis, Bronchiectasis, Lung Transplants, Lung Volume Reduction Surgery and most other related lung diseases.
